Malaysia is embarking on a transformative journey to establish itself as a Renewable Energy Generation and Distribution HUB. Inspire by MADANI initiative, the journey is aligning with national priorities to promote sustainable development, leverage Malaysia’s geographic advantage, and take a lead role in the green energy revolution within Southeast Asia. Our vision is to connect and support neighboring countries in their transition to renewable energy, creating an integrated and resilient regional energy network.
The primary vision is to make Malaysia a beacon of renewable energy in Southeast Asia by developing a robust infrastructure for renewable energy generation, distribution, and export. The initiative aims to
This initiative will have a profound impact, including:
The establishment of Malaysia as a Renewable Energy Generation and Distribution HUB is more than an ambitious goal; it is a crucial step towards a sustainable future, economic growth, and regional cooperation. By investing in clean energy and leveraging Malaysia’s strategic location, we have the opportunity to lead Southeast Asia into a greener, more resilient era.
We, UVCell Solar Incorporation and its solely owned subsidiary Eragene ICT Sdn Bhd being a renewable energy operator, over the years of solar energy development, we are moving toward dynamic and more comprehensive mixture of approach in this industry. Thus, we take the initiative to venture into renewable energy export, battery storage solution, grid balancing with the use of energy monitoring system.
Energy always the key factors to discuss in relation to the effort of reducing carbon emission. Currently the world is putting great effort in adapting to Renewable Energy, in order to reduce carbon emission with the aim of achieving Net Zero as a target especially in Southeast Asia countries, which we are foreseen that this region expecting a strong economic growth.
All countries in South Esat Asia are taking necessary consideration in developing individual renewable energy as appropriate as possible to suit their needs based on the inherent advantages of respective country such as, solar for Cambodia due to the long hour sun light, hydro power for Laos, Biomass and natural gas for Malaysia and more to be named. The main problem now is the demand for power more than what can be produced, not to mention the renewable energy yet, which is essential in compliance with the ESG requirement.
It’s seeming that all Southeast Asia Countries are facing a common problem in relation to electric power not to mention renewable power only, which is the poor grid condition and most common issue would be no longer sufficient to support the current usage and consumption. Grid balancing is equally important to stabilise the power besides upgrading the current system which require huge investments.
We realised that there are great potential and growth opportunity available in this subject, especially the effort towards reducing carbon emission and promoting renewable energy is the duty of the entire International Community. Promoting a green initiative must be aligned at levels within our communities. It is our duty and responsibility for the future generations. We see a very bright future given the massive potential in most of Southeast Asia countries. For example, Malaysia is full of green energy development opportunities and our shining example can be found in our Kedah, Pahang Johor State. This affirms why this opportunity is very timely for us all with the massive consumption by businesses like data centres it becomes self-evident as to the rapidly growing demand for energy efficiency, especially Singapore’s government commitment toward Net Zero objective.
Infrastructure needs to be established to smoothly facilitate the transition to renewable energy solutions. We are all concerned with safety, security and economic feasibility. As you are aware infrastructure development must be a combination of hardware and software, whereby a reliable Energy Monitoring System must be in place. We UVCell Solar Corporation., Earthtech Energy Sdn Bhd, China Energy Engineering Corporation, China Qifan and other reputable cable manufacturing companies have all taken strong measures as a consortium to support our infrastructure needs in Malaysia to Singapore.
Malaysia is situated at a very strategic location, the inherent advantages not only because it’s located in the central of all neighbouring counties, but we are also indeed well equipped with great infrastructures, such as advanced energy distribution grid and well-trained work force. Furthermore, Malaysia government green initiative toward low carbon emission commitment did attract international investors considering this type of investments.
We really believe this Truly Asia Renewable Energy Network going to be benefit to Southeast Asia countries. These cross countries subsea cable connecting all renewable energy surrounding Southeast Asia countries will change the traditional way of energy utilization and move to a new era of energy distribution. The coming together of our fellow countries begin with Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand. We believe eventually it will naturally expand and be aligned with the China One-Belt One-Road initiative. Our progress will undoubtedly create economical value that benefits all respective parties.
We recognize building infrastructure takes considerable investment. We are indeed well- structured and backed up by reputable financial institution
This project is planned to develop by stages, initially we are going to start with a proper feasibility study at the targeted location at Tanjung Agas, Pekan, Pahang. The location proposed is well connected with TNB distribution grid PMU, which is important for us to consider domestic consumption in the near future. The reason to construct the Subsea cable mainly is to export the renewable energy to Singapore without disturbing TNB energy grid. This great location also serves the purposes to connect to Northern Region such as Thailand and Cambodia and possibility to connect Hydro power from Laos via Cambodia after completing phase one, which is intentionally from Pahang to Singapore.
Since this export of power for this project is targeted to supply to Singapore, considering the huge investment and justification for the usage of Subsea cable investment and Singapore government Renewable Energy demand, we planned to construct a Biomass Power plant using Bamboo as burning material, with the intention to constantly and continuingly generating Renewable Energy to export the power besides relying on solar power generation which we plan to build at Pahang.
Phase One Estimated investment USD 1.580 Billion subject to full and comprehensive feasibility study.
Participating construction parties:
We are confident that all project related parties are contributing each expertise in formulating the total construction cost. Once the MOU is signed, we anticipated to start the process of design and preliminary task to move the project to new level.
We plan to start the local construction of solar farming and Power Station while waiting for the subsea cable confirmation which might require respective approval. We plan to self-consume the power generated at the location proposed by way of inviting a data centre company to build their AI data centre at the proposed land.
Solar farming funding will be provided thorough UVCell own funding. Subsea cable investment will be jointly invested with our China strategic investor. Biomass Power Plant will be invested by reputable institution which agreed upon if the subsea cable project is executed.
Project Ownerships and Funding
Due to the public interest and cross boarder participating countries benefit, we suggest that the subsea cable concession to be jointly owned and invest by related countries such as Singapore and Malaysia at phase one and whenever we are expanding to phase two, perhaps Thailand and Cambodia can participate the investment.
If option offered and not taken by respective countries, UVCell and its associate will own and run accordingly as planned.
